Every August, our Education Committee hosts a Back to School Bash (Fiesta de Regredo a Clases) for local students in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade. The Farmworker Ministry has helped prepare more than 250 students each school year with basic school supplies and book bags. This year we are fortunate enough to have sponsors to donate their time and services to provide children free haircuts and physicals. During the event, parents and children can look forward to snow cones and raffle prizes! Haircuts and physicals will be first come, first served, and school supplies and backpacks will be given away until supplies run out. If you are interested in donating items, below is list of school supplies that can be delivered to the Farmworker Ministry. Arrangements can also be made to pick up any donations. Please call our main office for more assistance. Our English and Spanish flier is available for download as well. Read more Centro Campesino News...

We are excited to announce the official date, time and location for the Fiesta 2016! Our annual fundraiser that funds the Housing Committee’s revolving loan fund takes place April 23, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Auburndale City Park. Preparations for the Fiesta are underway! Last year, the Farmworker Ministry raised more than $20,000 to help two families obtain affordable housing. Funds raised from the Fiesta also benefit various education and culture programs we provide, such as the GED, ESL and citizenship classes and the Ballet Folklórico Cesar Chavez. This year, we hope to raise $40,000 to help two families achieve their dreams of owning a home! Help us reach our goal and support our mission to empower families through programs fostering self-sufficiency, healthcare, social services, employment and education! We are currently accepting donations and sponsors. If you are interested in becoming a Fiesta 2016 sponsor, you can find more information about the sponsorship levels in the Fiesta page under our Ways to Give page. If you are interested in giving an individual donation, send us an email at [email protected]. We’ll see you at the Auburndale City Park on April 23, 2016! Read more Centro Campesino News... |
